The Trade

Standard

We have Trading Places (the movie), Trading Spaces (a design show), athletes are traded to other teams and stocks are being traded.  It seems as if something or someone is always being traded for something better.

Today while listening and enjoying the the Israel and the New Breed station on Pandora, a song titled Trading My Sorrows by Darrell Evans came on.  It’s a catchy little tune and I encourage you to listen if you get the chance.  I’ll share a few of the lyrics with you.

I’m trading my sorrow
I’m trading my shame
I’m laying it down for the joy of the Lord

I’m trading my sickness
I’m trading my pain
I’m laying it down for the joy of the Lord

Chorus:

And we say yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord
Yes Lord yes Lord yes yes Lord Amen

And his joy’s gonna be my strength
Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning

Isaiah 35:10 says, “They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.”

So, yes Lord, yes Lord, yes, yes, Lord, Amen!  Yes, to everlasting joy!

Is it time for you to make a trade?
